ShiftLeft™ Inc., an innovator in application-specific cloud security, today announced it has named former FireEye sales executive John Kassees as its new Director of Enterprise Sales; and former New Relic sales executive Brian Hurrell as its new Director of SMB/Commercial Sales. In these new roles, the new sales directors will be responsible for helping customers understand and benefit from ShiftLeft’s unique security solution that is highly accurate and highly performant.

“The addition of these proven sales leaders will rapidly accelerate the expansion of ShiftLeft’s product offerings beyond our current try-and-buy sales model,” said Manish Gupta, ShiftLeft CEO and co-founder. “Since ShiftLeft’s launch from stealth mode about a month ago, the company has seen significant traction and interest in its application-specific SECaaS solution protecting cloud applications and microservices in the DevOps process. These sales leaders bring a wealth of experience helping companies grow in new markets. We will rely on that expertise as we gear up for the next phase of ShiftLeft’s rapid growth.”

ShiftLeft has introduced the industry’s first fully automated Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS) for cloud software that understands the security needs of each version of each application, and creates custom security and threat detection for it. With ShiftLeft, organizations can now secure their cloud applications as part of their continuous integration pipeline, rather than merely reacting to threats discovered in production. ShiftLeft also identifies vulnerabilities, including contextual vulnerabilities with usage of Open Source Software (OSS) and data leakage risks, allowing organizations to either fix them or protect against them in production using ShiftLeft’s Microagent.

About ShiftLeft

ShiftLeft empowers developers and AppSec teams to dramatically reduce risk by quickly finding and fixing the vulnerabilities most likely to reach their applications and ignoring reported vulnerabilities that pose little risk. Industry-leading accuracy allows developers to focus on security fixes that matter and improve code velocity while enabling AppSec engineers to shift security left.

A unified code security platform, ShiftLeft CORE scans for attack context across custom code, APIs, OSS, containers, internal microservices, and first-party business logic by combining results of the company’s and Intelligent Software Composition Analysis (SCA).
